The biggest difference I notice when comparing Pascal’s bike rides to my walk around my neighborhood is the tree canopy. There are so many more trees here in Charlotte, just along the roads and in parking lots and just everywhere. The second is the architecture of the buildings- the architecture in Amsterdam just adds so much to the overall experience, rather than in Charlotte, and most parts of the US, where you either have large modern structures uptown and then most other facades don’t feel like they were designed to be looked at. So it’s kinda like in Charlotte you have trees to look at and in Amsterdam you have buildings to look at.
I also couldn’t tell which roads he was biking on were roads that cars were allowed on and which were bike paths because the bike paths look so big (I know, lot’s of cyclists). That was surprising to me.
